17 Million Dollar Investment in Station Mont Tremblant Infrastructures - New lift, expansion of Le Grand Manitou as well as significant renovations to infrastructures Français
MONT-TREMBLANT, QC, March 12 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Alterra Mountain Company has announced a first set of capital investments in its properties that translates into significant improvements for Station Mont Tremblant infrastructures. This includes replacing the Lowell Thomas chairlift, renovating and expanding summit chalet Le Grand Manitou, creating new glades, renovating La Fourchette du Diable on the North Side base, as well as other notable additions and upgrades.

Over 17 million dollars will be invested this year," revealed Patrice Malo, Station Mont Tremblant President and Chief Operating Officer.
New Lift and Other Mountain Investments
The fixed-grip triple Lowell Thomas chairlift serving the upper North Side will be entirely replaced with a Dopplelmayr detachable quad. Boosting capacity by 600 skiers per hour, this new lift will be in operation by next season. Station Mont Tremblant will continue increasing its snowmaking capacity with the acquisition of 31 high-efficiency snow guns. Also, 5 new glades covering a 50- acre area will extend Tremblant's skiable terrain to 101 trails across 715 acres. The sectors involved are located on the North Side and the Edge which are respectively served by the Duncan, Expo and Edge lifts.
Expansion and Renovations ‒ Le Grand Manitou
The main summit building will see its footprint increased to showcase an abundance of windows, 400 additional seats and a completely reinvented foodservice area. Located in the Laurentians, L'Ecuyer Lefaivre has been mandated to draw up the floorplans, some of which are available here. Work will get underway in Summer 2018, with delivery before the next ski season.
Renovation of La Fourchette du Diable
Located on the North Side base, the footprint of La Fourchette du Diable will also be increased, turning the northern tip of the building into a permanent structure, for a superior guest experience. Also, an annex will be built to accommodate ski patrol operations. Work will be completed by the start of the 2018/19 season.
Other Capital Investments
A number of other small scale projects will also get underway this summer, such as renovating the Chalet des Voyageurs washrooms, the addition of a new grooming machine and replacing part of the current high-performance rental equipment inventory as well as 150 golf carts.
