10th Annual Canadian Underwater Conference & Exhibition returns to Vancouver
HALIFAX, March 1, 2018 /CNW/ - The Canadian Underwater Conference & Exhibition (CUCE) will return to Greater Vancouver for the first time in seven years. The CUCE will be held in the Richmond Conference Centre at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel in Richmond, BC, March 25-27, 2018. Port/Harbour Authorities, Shipyards, General & Marine Contractors, Local Government Authorities and Health & Safety professionals will want to attend. So will occupational divers, diving contractors, military, police & fire service divers, diving equipment manufacturers & suppliers, ROV manufacturers & service providers, diver/ROV training school personnel, marine, scientific & engineering students & personnel, diving regulators, and ROV pilot/technicians. Registration includes all coffee breaks and two lunches.
Twenty-one speakers from Canada, the USA, and Germany will present cutting edge technical presentations on such subjects as "tunnel boring under pressure", "diving in one-atmosphere hard-shelled dive suits", "the development of rebreathers", "the harmonization of provincial diving regulations" and many more. The keynote speaker at Tuesday's lunch will highlight the work of the cluster of British Columbian companies who have been at the forefront of the development of underwater technology over the past 50 years.
Another highlight of the conference will be the Monday evening Awards Banquet and the presentation of the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award to an individual who has made significant contributions to the Canadian underwater industry.

Since 2008 this annual conference has been held in Halifax (3 times), Toronto (twice), Vancouver, St. John's, Victoria and Ottawa. Returning to the West Coast in 2018, Vancouver was chosen because of the opportunity to showcase the many local companies who have contributed to the underwater industry over the years.
