100 Environmentally Conscious Schools Closer to $25,000 Worth of Technology
Ten winners in the Staples Superpower your School Contest to be announced ahead of Earth Day, April 22
TORONTO, March 10, 2016 /CNW/ - Staples Canada today announced the 100 regional finalists for the 2016 Superpower Your School Contest. The contest, held in collaboration with Earth Day Canada, was open to publicly-funded elementary and secondary schools across Canada and ran from December 3, 2015 to January 29, 2016. Almost 630 schools submitted entries detailing their environmental initiatives. Ten schools, two from each region, will be selected to receive $25,000 each towards the purchase of new technology from Staples Canada. The list of 100 finalists can be found at staples.ca/powereco.
"Across the country, schools are passionately making a difference," said Steve Matyas, president of Staples Canada. "We applaud each school that entered and want to congratulate the 100 finalists for their outstanding commitment to education and the environment."
The 10 winning schools will be publicly announced in April in anticipation of Earth Day.
