/R E P E A T -- Webinar - New EU and US PFAS Restrictions/
Update on current and proposed PFAS restrictions
OTTAWA, ON, Feb. 8, 2023 /CNW/ - On 15 February 2023, Claigan Environmental Inc. (www.claigan.com) will present a webinar on the proposed and current PFAS restrictions in the EU and US. A significant portion for the webinar will be on the new proposed restrictions and reporting requirements for perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the EU under the REACH Regulation.
On February 7 2023, the EU proposed broad new restrictions on PFAS under the REACH Regulation. The proposal includes polymer and non-polymer uses, and affects virtually every product sector. Meanwhile, on February 25 2023, the REACH restriction of the common long chain perfluoroalkyl carboxylates (C9 to C15 - the longer versions of PFOA) will take effect. This very near term restriction affects virtually every intentional use of fluoropolymers, as this chemical family can be found above regulated levels in almost every kind of polymer.
Claigan's webinar will discuss the brand new proposed restrictions under EU REACH, plus tangible near term restrictions of select PFAS. On the topic of US restrictions, the principle topics will be Prop 65 and sector specific restrictions (such as AB1200).
The main topics to be covered in this webinar are -
- Proposed EU REACH Restrictions of PFAS
- Current PFAS restrictions
- PFAS reporting requirements
- California Prop 65 restrictions
- Compliance approaches for PFAS regulation
Due to the interest in these topics, two (2) webinars will be held on February 15 to accommodate a larger audience.
