WINDSOR, ON, June 21, 2013 /CNW/ - On June 19th, 2013 members of the Windsor RCMP concluded a brief investigation into the sale and distribution of
contraband tobacco products. As a result of the investigation a Windsor
man was arrested and is currently facing charges under the Excise Act
RCMP officers seized 345 cartons of cigarettes, a vehicle and
approximately $600.00 in cash.
The suspect in the matter is scheduled to appear in Windsor Provincial
court on July 29th, 2013.
"The trade in illicit tobacco is a burden on all Canadians. It contributes to the growth of an
underground economy and has been known to fund organized crime", stated
