Vendorlink.ca provides vendor credentialing management to Kingston General Hospital
Newly streamlined credentialing system optimizes patient safety
TORONTO, Feb. 8, 2013 /CNW/ - Vendorlink.ca has been awarded a five-year contract to provide Kingston General Hospital (KGH) with a credentialing, compliance and access system for all its vendors. The Vendorlink solution enables hospitals to enforce policies, and provides credentialing, training and monitoring of their vendors to ensure patient safety and privacy.
"We are incredibly proud to provide KGH with a vendor-management system," said Michelle Floh, Founder and President of Vendorlink.ca. "KGH joins other Ontario hospitals to incorporate the Vendorlink solution in efforts to optimize patient safety and vendor accountability."
The Vendorlink solution requires all third party vendors, representatives and contractors to register with Vendorlink.ca. The vendors check in at a kiosk located at one of two hospital entrances, where the system verifies that members have completed immunizations, have liability insurance, job-specific training and understand hospital policies. Members who have met these hospital requirements receive a picture badge for easy recognition. Application of this solution restricts entry of unauthorized vendors or service people, optimizing compliance with hospital patient-safety initiatives.
All KGH vendors in the Surgical, Perioperative and Anesthesia program are required to register and complete training prior to March 1, 2013.
"Providing excellent care requires a consistent adherence to quality and safety standards from our staff, patients and visitors," says Jim Flett, KGH Chief Operating Officer. "We expect health-care industry representatives who work closely with our staff and patients to uphold the same commitment."
