VANCOUVER, July 12, 2013 /CNW/ - The Asian Real Estate Association of
America (AREAA) is holding the North American Business and Real Estate
Investment Summit in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 16th and 17th.
Marking the first time this summit is held in Vancouver, this unique
gathering will bring together industry leaders from across North
America for discussions on markets in North American and Asia.
Featured speakers include HGTV's Sarah Daniels and Phil DuMoulin hosts
of the popular program Urban Suburban, and Kelly Deck from Take it Outside, as well as senior executives from Century 21, Coldwell Banker, Better
Homes & Gardens, Re/max, Royal Lepage, MacDonald Realty, Sotheby's
among others. The conference will include a rich array of international
experts who will be sharing insights on a variety of critical topics
from new technological innovations impacting the real estate industry
to broader economic and trade matters.
The president for AREAA Vancouver and chair of this Summit, Tina Mak, of
Coldwell Banker Westburn Realty stated: "AREAA draws global
professionals together to share information, and forge critical
linkages. In many ways, Vancouver is the new global epicenter for
East-West cross-cultural dialogue and understanding. Real estate is a
pillar of the global economy. AREAA intends to nurture deeper ties to
strengthen the Chinese-North American partnership, with Vancouver
serving as a vital gateway.
Founded in 2003, AREAA is an international professional trade
organization dedicated to promoting homeownership opportunities in
Asian North American communities by creating an international voice for
the housing and real estate professionals that serve the market. AREAA
Vancouver is comprised of professionals from diverse cultural
backgrounds, directly and indirectly associated with the dynamic real
estate industry in the city. The association serves 13,000 members in
39 states with 30 affiliate chapters and one chapter in Canada.
Over the next twenty years, according to research conducted by AREAA,
Asians will be one of the fastest growing segments of the North
Americans population. Because most Asian North Americans are first
generation, they face significant language, cultural and knowledge
barriers that have kept the homeownership rate relatively unchanged
over the past 20 years. AREAA plans to initiate national and regional
efforts to address these opportunities.
