No joke: National Laughing Championships set for showdown Nov 10th
TORONTO, Oct. 29, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Toronto will be the centre of the
laughter universe when The Great Canadian Laughing Championships rolls
into town November 10th.
American Laughing Champion Julie Ostrow, the Inventor of Laughter Yoga
Madan Kataria, and Laughologist Albert Nerenberg are all headlining the
event which brings together the most contagious laughers in Canada for
an epic showdown.
The same weekend, the Canadian Laughter Yoga Conference takes place,
bringing the nation's top practitioners of one of the world's fastest
growing health trends. Laughing contests are a new sport, which promote
health in competitors and audience alike. They trend actually started
in Canada. The first Laughing Championships in Montreal in 2011 led to
contests in Japan, France, Austria, Slovenia and the USA among others.
The person with the most contagious laughs wins through a series of
dramatic challenges. They include the Alabama Knee-slapper, The
Diabolical Laugh, and the Laughter Duel among others. The contests have
been national news in Slovenia, the USA, and the Czech Republic.
The winner will be declared Best Laugher In Canada 2013.
