Sprinkler and Fire Protection Installer Trade Classification Review

TORONTO, Oct. 3, 2013 /CNW/ - The Ontario College of Trades (the College) is calling for written submissions from skilled tradespeople and interested stakeholders about whether the Sprinkler and Fire Protection Installer trade should be classified as a compulsory trade or remain a voluntary trade.

The College is asking interested stakeholders to send in written submissions that meet the criteria set out on the College's website:  www.collegeoftrades.ca/about/review-panels/trade-classification. The deadline for written submissions is November 8, 2013 at 2:00pm.

Once the deadline has passed, individuals who made a written submission will be invited to make an oral submission to a Review Panel that is independent of the College. The independent Review Panel will then make a decision on the classification of the trade based solely on the written and oral submissions received.

The College will continue to turn to its stakeholders and members to get their feedback on important issues that affect their careers and businesses.
