TORONTO, May 28, 2013 /CNW/ - Trot on over to Horse Day this Saturday at the Horse Palace at Exhibition Place to join in a celebration of all things equine.
Horse Day runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features riding demonstrations, horse meet 'n' greets, tours of the Toronto Police Mounted Unit's stable, autograph signings with equestrian stars, interactive exhibits, games, prizes and more.
Special guests include Hall of Fame jockey Sandy Hawley, who will be bringing the Queen's Plate trophy, and Sylvain Filion, Canada's 2012 Driver of the Year. Racing fans will also enjoy a special Northern Dancer exhibit with memorabilia from the legendary Thoroughbred.
There's plenty for young horse lovers, too! Kids are invited to create a steed of their very own to ride in the stick horse show. There will also be a colouring corner where kids can showcase their artistic skills, plus story time with Norman, the equine star of a children's book.
Now in its fifth year, Horse Day was started by the Ontario Equestrian Federation to introduce the public to horses in a safe, fun environment.
