Rogers TV is a community television service available exclusively to
Rogers' cable subscribers. The London Fire Department is fortunate to
have developed a successful partnership with Rogers TV London. Working
together, these two organizations developed nine half-hour episodes of
a series entitled 3 Lines of Defence. The series highlighted the fire department's protective services,
including education, prevention, and fire and rescue. While fire
department staff provided the expertise and on-camera talent, Rogers TV
donated its creative and technological expertise, at no cost to the
fire department or their customers.
The series was aired on a weekly basis, beginning in January 2013. Each
episode was aired a minimum of seven times and the entire series will
be re-run this summer. The fire department worked with Associate
Producer Jeremy Parking, who served as chief videographer and editor.
Jeremy dedicated many weeks of effort to make this educational fire
safety opportunity the best it could be.
"The fire department's goal was to impart safety messages based on the
principles of prevention, detection and escape," said Ted Wieclawek,
Ontario Fire Marshal and Chair, Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety
Council. "This professional and engaging series has enabled the London
Fire Department to reach thousands of people with important fire safety
