Rogers TV Grey County to receive Fire Safety Award
TORONTO, June 19, 2012 /CNW/ - Rogers TV Grey County will receive a Fire Safety Award from the Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council at a ceremony on June 26, 2012 in Toronto. The annual Fire Safety Awards recognize outstanding contributions to fire protection and prevention in Ontario.
The team at Rogers TV Grey County are long time supporters of Grey Highlands Fire & Emergency Services and their efforts to promote fire safety. Since 2009, Rogers TV Grey County has reported on fire department events, such as the Fire Prevention Week Open Houses and other fire safety initiatives. The relationship has continued to flourish over the years, with Rogers inviting fire department staff to be guests on shows such as Grey County Life and Dave Carr Live, to talk about important fire safety issues.
"Rogers TV Grey County has greatly enhanced the fire department's ability to reach a large number of the municipal residents through television," said Ted Wieclawek, Ontario Fire Marshal. "The enthusiastic staff at Rogers continues to assist their local fire service, recognizing the important role the media plays in communicating critical life safety messages to the public."
