Members of the public invited to ride with the Team and cheer them on
WHITBY, ON, April 27, 2012 /CNW/ - The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence boosted the Canadian soldiers on their inaugural training ride for the 2012 Big Battlefield Bike Ride. This first Wounded Warriors team is riding to increase awareness for mental health, to raise funds for treatment of combat troops and as recovery therapy for themselves.
For the next three weeks the riders are training in small groups on trails in southern Ontario. Members of the public are invited to cheer the team along by joining them on two 60 km training rides both departing at 10:00 am from the Colonel R.S. McLaughlin Armoury, 53 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa, Ontario on Saturday, May 5 and Saturday, May 12.
