Mitch Singer, former Chief of Digital Strategy at Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., joins General Harmonics Corporation

Mitch Singer, former Chief Digital Strategy Officer, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Inc. (Sony Pictures) has joined General Harmonics Corporation, a Vancouver based software Development Company as Vice President, Digital Business Development and Special Advisor to the Board. Mr. Singer will assist and contribute to the formation and development of strategy, including such matters as product development, marketing and business development/strategic alliances.


Mr. Singer stated "General Harmonics' extensive audio encoding technologies will revolutionize the delivery of music and media to consumers. At a time when consumers expect more from mobile streaming services, General Harmonics delivers cutting-edge encoding technology with superior quality at low bandwidth while enabling social interactive features which will fuel new revenue models in this fastest growing mobile market."

At Sony Pictures, Mr. Singer focused on emerging and disruptive technologies, evaluating and developing adaptive business models to stay ahead of the technological curve. In addition to developing new consumer usage models, he played a central role in Sony Pictures' worldwide anti-digital theft and digital rights management efforts, and was the lead negotiator for Sony Pictures in content protection technology licensing issues.

He serves as President of Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem, the 75-member, cross-industry consortium behind UltraViolet. While at Sony Pictures, Mr. Singer sat on numerous boards including Motion Picture Laboratories, DVD CCA, Entertainment Technology Center USC and the HDBaseT Alliance. He was also appointed to the copyright committee for The National Academies' Board on Science, Technology, and Economic Policy.
