Mercedes-Benz Canada reports record-breaking September sales and the company's best third quarter results ever Français
TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2013 /CNW/ - Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network reported today that the company has delivered 3,661 Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter and smart vehicles throughout the month. This impressive result represents the best September ever for the group and an increase of 19.6% for the month. With 9,856 units sold, Mercedes-Benz Canada also reported another milestone with the best third quarter results in the company's history. In total, 27,377 units have been sold by the Mercedes-Benz Canada network of corporate retail stores and private dealers year-to-date.
Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and luxury light trucks recorded 2,830 units retailed. This is up 17.6% when compared to September 2012, and pushed total sales to 23,069 units this year. A total of 1,490 passenger cars were delivered, which amounts to an increase of 16.5% for the month. The new E-Class family of vehicles continued to be a very popular choice for Canadians, and sales of the C-Class remained brisk through September.
Luxury light truck sales were up 18.8% for the month with a total of 1,340 units sold. This outstanding figure was fueled by sustained demand across the entire vehicle range. For example, retail deliveries of GLK-Class and GL-Class were ahead by 20.1% and 66.7% respectively in September.
The diesel take rate for luxury light trucks was 77.6% for the month, while permanent all-wheel drive 4MATIC™ units accounted for 79.0% of overall passenger car and light truck sales in September (excluding smart).
smart reported strong sales in September with a total of 435 vehicles retailed. This equates to an overall increase of 12.7% for the month, and brings year-to-date sales to 1,676 units.
A total of 396 Mercedes-Benz Sprinters were delivered throughout September. This represents a 47.2% increase for the month, and helped boost overall growth for the division to 29.3% with 2,632 units sold.
The Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division reported 1,226 retail deliveries throughout September. A grand total of 10,231 Certified Pre-Owned units have been sold by dealerships across the country year-to-date.
