TORONTO, July 3, 2013 /CNW/ - Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network reported today that the company has delivered 3,493 Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter and smart vehicles throughout the month of June. Overall, a total of 17,521 units have been sold by the Mercedes-Benz Canada network of corporate retail stores and private dealers on a year-to-date basis.
Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and luxury light trucks recorded 3,025 units retailed, which pushed total sales to 15,221 units at the end of the second quarter. Passenger car sales amounted to 1,912 vehicles for the month. This is up by 9.3%, and represents the best June ever on record. The C-Class continued to be the volume leader with 1,111 units delivered to customers.
On the luxury light trucks side, a total of 1,113 units were sold. This was fueled by continued impressive demand for the GLK-Class and GL-Class, with sales now ahead by 20.2% and 40.8% respectively year-to-date.
The diesel take rate for luxury light trucks was 79.8% for the month, while permanent all-wheel drive 4MATIC™ units accounted for 79.9% of overall passenger car and light truck sales in June (excluding smart).
smart reported a total of 145 vehicles sold in June.
A total of 323 Mercedes-Benz Sprinters were delivered throughout the month. This represents a 4.2% increase for the month, and brought year-to-date growth to 23.7% with 1,697 vehicles retailed.
The Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division reported 1,116 units sold. A total of 6,581 Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned vehicles have been delivered in 2013.
