Media Advisory - Whitby's New Innovation Accelerator "1855 Whitby" Opens Today
Accelerator to help grow local high potential technology companies to commercialization.
WHITBY, ON, April 11, 2019 /CNW/ - Whitby's new innovation accelerator, "1855 Whitby", will officially open its doors today. The new accelerator plays a pivotal role in helping to grow high potential technology companies to commercialization, increasing local jobs and economic prosperity.
The facility is the first of its kind in Durham Region and builds on Whitby's existing innovation district, comprised of more than a dozen tech and innovation companies individually employing over 500 people.
To celebrate the opening, media are invited to join Whitby Mayor Don Mitchell, President and Chief Executive Officer of 360insights Jason Atkins, and technology leader and former Dragon's Den "Dragon" Bruce Croxon for the official opening event. Details of the event are as follows:
