Media Advisory - Toronto International Women's Day Rally and March to take place on March 9
TORONTO, March 5, 2013 /CNW/ - Thousands of women will march on Saturday March 9 in Toronto's annual International Women's Day march, one of Toronto's largest and most diverse events.
Our theme is "Fires are Burning, We are Rising, No more Violence, No more Abuse, Respect our Bodies, Respect Our Choices".
We will be marching to demand respect for aboriginal women; an end to violence and abuse and for reproductive justice for all women.
The rally at OISE will feature speakers from the Idle No More movement as well as speakers on reproductive justice and access to abortion and anti-violence. Entertainment will include South Asian dancers.
