Mag Copper Limited Announces Drill Results from Massey Mine Property

TORONTO, June 28, 2012 /CNW/ - Mag Copper Limited (the "Company" or "Mag") (CNSX: QUE) is pleased to report results for five diamond drill holes totaling 2,008 meters drilled in the fall of 2011 at its 100% owned Massey Mine property. The Massey mine is located approximately 60 kilometers west of Sudbury along Highway 17. The mine is found within the Hough Lake group metasediments and consists of three shallow underground workings over a strike length of 1.6 km. It was discovered around 1900 and produced an estimated 18,535 tonnes of ore grading 2.82% copper (non 43-101 compliant) over its operating lifetime. Mag management believes that the Massey Mine project has previously unrecognized geological characteristics similar to an important class of giant ore deposits found around the world referred to as iron oxide copper gold (IOCG) deposits.

The purpose of the drilling was to test a series of parallel induced polarization (IP) anomalies previously identified in 2004 at depth and along the strike of the old mine workings. Highlights of the drilling are reported as follows (note: intervals are reported are core length):

- 0.63% copper over 6.8 m from 89.1 m to 95.90 m in hole MA11-01A
- 1.68% copper and 0.52 g/tonne gold over 5.7 m from 45.80 m to 51.50 m in hole MA11-02
- 0.19% copper over 7.42 m from 69.58 m to 77m in hole MA11-03
- 2.41% copper over 3.5 m from 163 to 166.5 m in hole MA11-03
- 1.79 g/tonne gold over 1 m from 32 m to 33 m in hole MA11-04
- 1.04 g/tonne gold over 1 m from 45 m to 46 m in hole MA11-04
- 0.43% copper over 7 m from 274 m to 281 m in hole MA11-04
- 0.21 g/tonne gold over 1 m from 440 m to 441 m  in hole MA11-05

True widths for the intersections reported above are presently unknown. In each hole, intervals of disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite mineralization were identified in a variety of rock types including metasedimentary and felsic to mafic metavolcanic units with quartz carbonate, serecite and chlorite alteration, and broad mixed breccia zones that were strongly hematized. Drill collar co-ordinates for this program were as follows:

Hole No. Azimuth (deg.) Inclination (deg.) Easting (UTM's)* Northing (UTM's)*
MA11-1A 180 -45 412712 5121053
MA11-02 180 -55 412966 5120992
MA11-03 360 -45 412470 5121047
MA11-04 180 -45 412609 5121047
MA11-05 180 -45 412384 5121228

* NAD83, Zone 17

Management of the Company is encouraged by these results in that the observed lithogeochemistry in the drill core fits within an Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG) model, and the mineralized zones remain open to depth and along strike to the west. Management is presently considering follow up exploration work including down hole and property wide IP surveying, and further diamond drilling.
