London Health Sciences University Hospital Nurses Vote Overwhelmingly to Join the Ontario Nurses' Association
LONDON, ON, March 30, 2012 /CNW/ - The Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA), Canada's largest nurses' union, welcomes 1,250 registered nurses in London as its newest members.
The London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) University Hospital RNs have overwhelmingly voted 'yes' to join their 2,000 Victoria Hospital colleagues as ONA members.
James Murray, RN, the ONA Bargaining Unit President for the Victoria Hospital, which is also part of the LHSC, says: "Registered nurses value their membership in ONA and we are thrilled that our colleagues are joining us in our union."

ONA President Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN, says: "ONA prides itself on being the leading voice and advocate for registered nurses and allied health professionals in Ontario."

ONA is the union representing 59,000 front-line RNs and allied health professionals, and more than 13,000 nursing student affiliates providing care in Ontario hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, industry, and clinics.
