MONTREAL, May 22, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Ms. Deborah Conroy, President of Turnaround Management Association- Montreal Chapter is pleased to announce the first annual "Newsmakers' Luncheon-conference" with guest speaker, the Honourable Jean Lapierre. The sold out event at the St-James Club in Montreal will feature Mr. Lapierre who will give us his very astute analysis on a wide range of political issues with his unique perspective from Quebec.
Mr. Lapierre has a distinguished career in politics having first been elected to the House of Commons as the Liberal member for Shefford in 1979 and re-elected until 1990. After leaving the Liberals in 1990, he was a founding member of the Bloc Quebecois from 1990 to 1992. After an 11-year absence, Mr. Lapierre returned to the Liberal caucus in 2004, when he served as the Minister of Transport in the cabinet of Paul Martin representing the Outremont riding. In 2007, he withdrew from politics.
Since then Mr. Lapierre has been a much sought after political analyst, working with the TVA network and Montreal Radio 98, 5 FM. He co-hosts a political show with Paul Larocque and is a commentator with CJAD in Montreal and FM93 in Quebec City. He contributes regularly to Power Play and Question period in the CTV network.
