QUEBEC CITY, April 24, 2015 /CNW/ - Former Québec Premier Jean Charest and his wife Michèle Dionne were greatly saddened to learn of the death of Senator Pierre-Claude Nolin.
"We would like to convey our thoughts and sincere condolences to Senator Nolin's wife, Camille Desjardins, as well as to his children Simon, Louis and Virginie," said Mr. Charest.
"Pierre-Claude Nolin and I met during the 1983 Progressive Conservative leadership race, which was won by Brian Mulroney," noted Mr. Charest.
"Pierre-Claude Nolin was my chief organizer in Québec during the 1993 Conservative leadership campaign, as well as during the 1997 federal campaign. We shared many memorable moments together. He was a kind and generous man with exceptional political abilities. He will be greatly missed," said Mr. Charest.
"In addition to being an emblematic figure in the Senate, Pierre-Claude Nolin was highly respected and well-liked by his colleagues. His passing will also be mourned in Québec's De Salaberry senatorial division, which he proudly represented since his appointment on June 18, 1993," concluded Mr. Charest.
