Greater Sudbury Area Drug Trafficking Operation Disrupted

SUDBURY, ON, Dec. 9, 2013 /CNW/ - As a result of a joint forces investigation, dubbed project 'OCLASS', the Sudbury Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Greater Sudbury Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police (Organized Crime Enforcement Branch) have disrupted a cocaine trafficking operation and seized a significant quantity of cocaine destined for the Greater Sudbury Area.

On November 26, police stopped a vehicle on Highway 69 near French River. Upon searching the vehicle, investigators found over one kilogram of cocaine, a restricted weapon and other items. The driver of the vehicle, Kyle AULENBACK (31) of Greater Sudbury, was arrested at the scene.

As a result of this investigation, officers have seized:

  • 1024 grams of cocaine
  • One set of brass knuckles
  • One extendable baton
  • $315 in Canadian currency
  • Seven Hell's Angels support shirts
  • One vehicle

Kyle AULENBACK has been released under a recognizance of bail and scheduled to attend Sudbury Courthouse on January18, 2014.

He has been charged with:

a)     Trafficking cocaine
b)     Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
c)     Possession of property obtained by crime (Canadian currency)
