Enforcement Notice - Decision - IN THE MATTER OF Industrial Alliance Securities Inc. - Settlement Accepted Français
TORONTO, Nov. 25, 2014 /CNW/ - On November 4, 2014, a Hearing Panel of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) accepted a Settlement Agreement, with sanctions, between IIROC staff and Industrial Alliance Securities Inc. (Industrial Alliance).
The Agreement concerns Industrial Alliance's failure to adequately supervise, and address the risks associated with, the activities of one of its Registered Representatives in connection with an individual who had been permanently barred from approval with IIROC.
Specifically, Industrial Alliance admitted to the following violation:

Between October 2010 and February 2012, Industrial Alliance failed to adequately supervise the activities of one of its Registered Representatives, contrary to Dealer Member Rules 38.1 and 2500. |
Pursuant to the Settlement Agreement, Industrial Alliance agreed to the following penalty: |

Payment of a fine in the amount of $50,000. |
Industrial Alliance also agreed to pay costs in the amount of $7,500. |
