Minister Leitch congratulates parties on ratifying a new agreement covering employees at the Ambassador Bridge
OTTAWA, Oct. 10, 2014 /CNW/ - The Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated the Canadian Transit Company and Teamsters Local 879 today on reaching a new collective agreement covering 14 employees working as general maintenance employees, janitors, patrolmen and traffic guards at the Ambassador Bridge. Their previous collective agreement expired on September 18, 2013.
This agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, which provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the Canada Labour Code.
