Cohen Commission to submit final report by October 29, 2012

VANCOUVER, Sept. 25, 2012 /CNW/ - The Cohen Commission of Inquiry into the Decline of Sockeye Salmon in the Fraser River has been granted an additional one month extension by the Governor General in Council to complete its work. The commission's Terms of Reference are now revised to call for the final report to be submitted on or before October 29, 2012.

The Commissioner's final report must be submitted in both official languages at the same time. Given the length and complexity of his report, the Commissioner requested the extension to complete the writing, translation and production of the report.
