TORONTO, Sept. 16, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Online Publishing Awards (COPAS) announced the 2014 finalists on Monday September 15. This prestigious industry awards program recognizes digital publishing excellence in Canada and attracts publishers from the newspaper, magazine, broadcast and digital sectors from across Canada. The goal of the awards program is to help the publishing industry innovate with digital channels.
The COPAs are produced by Masthead magazine, a website dedicated to the publishing industry in Canada for print and digital. www.masthead.ca Martin Seto, the producer of the COPAs, states " I saw some great creative work and the margin of winning or losing was as low as 1% in some categories this year. The judging panel consisted of 95 experts in design, writing, marketing and publishing. A judges blog will be posted in October to see what the judges thought about this year's entries for feedback to help the industry go to the next level. The winners will be announced at the COPA Awards party on Thursday, November 20 at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto from 5-10 pm. Tickets are now on sale on the COPA website.
Industry participation of the event this year continues to grow and includes Reader's Digest as the gold sponsor and the following industry supporters CNW's media partners program, Digital Reno a content marketing agency, Metro News Canada a national news publication, PressReader a digital publishing company, Winnipeg Free Press newspaper and Toshiba Canada's contribution of a touch screen laptop for a door prize.
