On the year, MINI has retailed a total of 2,321 units, up 30 per cent over the same period last year.  Since its arrival in Canada in 2002, MINI has grown from a one-model brand to a six-model family. The new additions to the MINI line-up, the MINI Roadster, Coupe and Countryman, made a strong contribution to May's sales results. The brand's core model, the MINI Hatch, saw continued strength as well.

"The BMW brand broke the 3,000-unit mark in monthly sales volume, and the MINI brand continues to experience double-digit growth," said Eduardo Villaverde, president and CEO, BMW Group Canada.  "I believe we have reason to feel optimistic for the coming months, as well.  We have spectacular new models such as the all-new 6 Series Gran Coupé making their way to Canada, and our xDrive all-wheel drive system will soon be available on our most-important model, the BMW 3 Series. With the growth in its line-up, MINI offers vehicles to a wider range of customers than ever before. The premium segment is enjoying positive growth, and the products the BMW Group has coming are certainly going to help us make an impact in that arena."
