TORONTO, June 5, 2013 /CNW/ - It has been a busy winter in the Baby
Point Gates BIA one of the city's newest and smallest BIAs. We have 3
announcements of interest to residents of the City of Toronto.
On June 15th we will be hosting our very first sidewalk sale - complete
with street entertainment including face painters, magician, balloon
artist, a roaming band, and a classic fire truck. On the culinary side
several of the areas restaurants will be participating with outdoor
food service ranging from organic chocolate, to pub fare and an evening
oyster shack at 5pm. And of course, what would a sidewalk sale be
without a sale! You can expect everything from kitchenware, women's
fashion, and hardware to be on display alongside health and lifestyle
services. For more information on this event please visit our website (www.babypointgates.ca).
We are also pleased to announce that our parking committee has been
successful in convincing City Council to change parking by-laws (as
indicated by their recent vote) for the east side of Jane St and both
sides of Annette St. in the BIA. While the changes are modest, they
will make a few optimizations that will increase our parking capacity
for short term visitors.
The parking change comes just in time as in the last several months
we've had 5 new businesses move into the BIA. Every month the diversity
of our retail community continues to grow, and with it the
attractiveness to shoppers and other new business (3 more new stores
will be opening up shortly).
