AOF and American International Film Festival award-winning Producer Lisa Stadnykova launches WW II-Canadian themed Feature and Documentary

TORONTO, July 26, 2012 /CNW/ - Lisa Stadnykova, an Action on Film (AOF) and American International Film Festival award-winning producer, is developing a feature-length film screenplay based on the life of David Parsons Rowland, a World War II Chaplain with the Irish Regiment of Canada. The script is an adaptation of "The Padre" and "Fifty-two Sundays," two books written by Rowland's son, Barry. Using her signature style - a fluid, elegant fusion of humanity, warmth and keen insight - Stadnykova weaves a love story from actual letters written between The Padre and his wife, Kay, while he was overseas during the war.

Stadnykova is also co-producing a documentary film about the untold story of Canadian women who gave volunteer service--often of a covert nature--during WWII from first-hand accounts of survivors. "Time is of the essence with this project. We believe this was a major moment in history for all women. We are honored to have the opportunity to help these women share their incredible stories," said Stadnykova.  The film is scheduled to release on the Film Festival circuit in September 2013.
