TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2013 /CNW/ - Alexander Proudfoot, a global management consultancy leader in operational and financial improvements in the Natural Resources industry, is pleased to welcome Ken Kirk as Executive Vice President and Paul Hebert as Senior Vice President within its Canadian Natural Resources Unit. Kirk and Hebert will be instrumental in extending Proudfoot's natural resources expertise—more than 240 mining projects on five continents within the last eight years alone—deeper into the Canadian market.
This newly introduced Natural Resources Unit focuses exclusively on helping Canadian companies elevate performance through higher levels of productivity and efficiency. The Unit specializes in all areas of the industry, including surface and underground mines, and smelting and refining operations. Proudfoot is known for delivering results where it counts—whether that's at the mine face or on the factory floor.
"Kirk and Hebert are tremendous additions to our team," comments Jon Wylie, President of Proudfoot's Canada Mining and Metals Practice. "We all know that this is a challenging time for the global natural resources industry and that's why our growing presence in Canada is more important than ever before. Kirk and Hebert will be able to build upon our 65 years of experience to deliver our Canadian partners with those elements that ensure a sustainable competitive advantage, including enhanced worker skills, more effective supervisory and management behaviors, and operational and financial improvements that impact both the bottom line and the top line."
Kirk joins Proudfoot with more than 25 years of management experience. He most recently served as the Vice President of KPMG's Energy and Natural Resources Sector, where he built extensive relationships within the industry and helped deliver significant improvements in strategic areas such as procurement. "Alexander Proudfoot has a long-standing reputation for successfully executing operational improvement programs around the world," says Kirk. "I'm honored to join a company that is dedicated to the long-term success of its clients. I look forward to bringing industry best practices to all areas of the Canadian market."
Hebert brings more than 15 years of direct mining experience to the role, previously holding executive positions with the Mining Association of Canada and the Mining Industry Human Resources Council. He has effectively helped to raise the profile of the Canadian mining industry, and created a public policy environment conducive to the industry's continued growth. "Opportunities for the industry to elevate performance are vast," explains Hebert. "I'm excited about the possibilities within Proudfoot's Canadian Natural Resources Unit to help companies take advantage of these opportunities and accelerate to the next level."
