VANCOUVER, Oct. 8, 2013 /CNW/ - Port Moody Naturopathic Health and
Wellness Clinic is now offering screening for early breast cancer
detection with highly effective Automated Breast UltraSound (ABUS).
ABUS is a breakthrough technology that helps find cancers that may be
"hidden" in dense breast tissue and may not be detected in a regular
mammography. Used adjunct with mammography, it has been shown to
double and even triple the detection rates of breast cancer. ABUS is
available only in a handful of clinics.
"With the help of breakthrough technology such as ABUS, Port Moody
Health & Wellness Clinic aims to dramatically improve breast cancer
care and recovery." - Dr Sharon Gurm.
Early detection of breast cancer is critically important because the
five-year survival rate is close to 90% when cancers are detected
early. Cancers that go undetected at the early stages may require more
aggressive treatment options and are associated with poorer outcomes.
