TORONTO, Oct. 22, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Première Moisson announced the launch of the company's '189 Harwood' line, a new gourmet label developed specifically for grocery and super store consumers, and is now available to Ontario customers looking to treat themselves to delicious yet simple, speciality bakery products.
For more than two decades, Première Moisson has earned an enviable reputation for its high-quality, healthy and fresh baked goods sold only within its bakeries in Quebec. Now, consumers in Ontario can take the taste of the bakery home from the grocery store freezer and enjoy the same great flavour.
The first products launched under the '189 Harwood' label are mini croissants, chocolate croissants and raisin brioches. Each product goes from the freezer to the oven with no need to defrost or wait for rising time before baking. Ready in 30 minutes, the mini pastries deliver maximum taste bud pleasure while providing all the aromas and smells of fresh baked pastries.
Starting today, the '189 Harwood' line of Viennese-styled baked goods (viennoiseries) will be available in the baked goods freezer section of Metro stores across Ontario. The mini croissants, chocolate croissants and raisin brioches are the first in a line that will expand to offer more tempting baked treats.
189 Harwood: The new face of Première Moisson in grocery stores
The name '189 Harwood' line pays homage to the address of the first bakery and group head office in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Québec. The '189 Harwood' launch marks an important step in the history of Première Moisson. With the 2011 acquisition of a new production facility in Baie-D'Urfé, the company gained the tools to expand its products and distribution to satisfy ever increasing demand without sacrificing any quality.
"We are extremely proud to launch '189 Harwood' brand offerings which are the result of two years of hard work and a healthy dose of innovation by our team," said Josée Fiset, General Manager, Retail Network and company spokesperson. "The challenge for Première Moisson was to develop perfect pastries ready in no time for our customers. Mission accomplished! Now, Ontario consumers can add a taste of French cuisine to their morning without any of the mess and stress."
"Our viennoiseries, made with the finest ingredients, are unrivalled from the standpoint of taste experience and can be prepared quickly at any time of day," said Isabelle Marquis, Marketing Director, Retail and Food Service.

A short of history of the '189 Harwood' line
In 1992, the Colpron-Fiset family acquired an ancestral property located at 189 Harwood Boulevard in Vaudreuil-Dorion (Québec) where they opened their first bakery. The house seemed predestined for its new vocation as the owners came across an old bread bin in the attic.
It was in this community steeped in agricultural tradition that took root the values of freshness, quality and authenticity which have become the hallmarks of the Première Moisson brand. Almost twenty-five years later, the company remains profoundly attached to the location where it all began, a location which today houses its principal bakery. With the new '189 Harwood' line, Première Moisson seeks to reassert the company's aim to pursue development while remaining loyal to its founding principles of ongoing innovation and pleasantly surprising variations on traditional themes.
