      Press Release Summary:

      • Initial 2026 drilling results confirm multiple high-grade copper-zinc-lead-gold-silver intercepts at the Errington Zone, including 11.0 metres grading 6.41% CuEq in hole EME-26-086.
      • Results continue to demonstrate the potential to expand mineralization at depth, where the Errington Zone remains open for further growth.
      • Elevated gold and silver values in the eastern part of the zone highlight the potential for precious metals to enhance overall value per tonne.
      • New drilling supports an evolving geological model in which mineralization may be faulted and offset down-dip rather than closed off by folding, creating additional exploration opportunities.
      • Borehole electromagnetic surveys are underway to identify conductive sulphide targets and help guide the next phase of deeper drilling.

THUNDER BAY, ON, Sept. 3, 2026 /CNW/ -- Errington Metals Corp. (TSXV: EM) ("Errington" or the "Company") is pleased to announce initial results from its 2026 Spring exploration program at the Errington Zone. The results include multiple polymetallic intercepts and, importantly, continue to demonstrate the potential to grow the deposit. Drilling has extended the Company's understanding of mineralization in the eastern portion of the zone, where elevated gold and silver values continue to contribute meaningfully to overall grade and potential value per tonne. Highlights of this initial drilling are summarized below, with a full table of assay results provided in Table 1.

      Highlights:1

      • 11.0m grading 1.75% Cu, 8.63% Zn, 2.05% Pb, 1.66 gpt Au, 104.5 gpt Ag, 6.41% CuEq in EME-26-086
      • 19.3m grading 0.69% Cu, 3.29% Zn, 1.12% Pb, 0.83 gpt Au, 42.6 gpt Ag, 2.68% CuEq in EME-26-089
      • 12.3m grading 0.43% Cu, 6.10% Zn, 1.41% Pb, 1.22 gpt Au, 41.7 gpt Ag, 3.49% CuEq in EME-26-100
      • 8.90m grading 0.69% Cu, 8.78% Zn, 2.57% Pb, 0.91 gpt Au, 86.2 gpt Ag, 4.83% CuEq in EME-26-083

      ________________________________________________

1 True widths are expected to be 70% to 100% of drilling widths listed in the table. Cu Eq is copper equivalent calculated as Cu (%) + Zn (%) x 0.273 + Pb (%) x 0.167 + Ag (gpt) x 0.0081 + Au (gpt) x 0.6752. Metal prices used Copper $4.5/lb ($9921/tonne), Zinc $1.3/lb ($2866/tonne), Lead $0.90/lb ($1984/tonne), Gold $2500/oz, Silver $30/oz, Recoveries are set at Copper 90%, Zinc 85%, Lead 75%, Gold 75%, and Silver 75%. Copper equivalent values are provided for illustrative purposes only. No allowance has been made for payability, smelter terms, refining charges, penalties, or deleterious elements

A video outlining the full context of the new drilling results can be viewed at https://vrify.com/meetings/recordings/c7c8e371-e8c3-4c86-9de7-73950731f86c.

Matthew Gollat, President and CEO of Errington Metals, commented: "These initial results from the 2026 drill program are an exciting step forward for Errington. We continue to intersect strong polymetallic mineralization at depth, including meaningful precious metals values that can enhance the overall value of this opportunity. Just as important, the drilling is improving our understanding of the structures that control mineralization and is opening up new areas to follow the system down-dip. The Errington Zone remains open, and these results give us a clear path to target additional growth as we advance the next phase of drilling."

The 2026 program was designed to test the depth extension along the full strike extent of the Errington mineralized zone, including the West and 1500 areas, where assays remain pending. At Errington Main, drilling tested extensions of mineralization within the major fault blocks, with an initial focus on the eastern portion of the Main and Christie Blocks. Results continue to show elevated gold associated with massive sulphide mineralization in the eastern part of Errington, building on the higher precious metals signature first recognized in 2025 drilling, when drill hole EME-25-047 intersected 21.5 m grading 0.38% Cu, 0.08% Zn, 0.13% Pb, 1.23 g/t Au and 24.7 g/t Ag (see Errington's June 9, 2026 press release). Overall, the new drilling suggests that massive sulphide mineralization persists at depth at grades comparable to the upper portion of Errington, while the eastern part of the zone continues to show elevated gold values that may add to the value of future tonnes.

All holes drilled encountered mineralization within the Vermilion chert-carbonate breccia horizon or as stringer sulphides within the footwall volcanic rocks. Holes that intersected stringer mineralization may point to additional offset or folding of the massive sulphide horizon, providing further targets for follow-up drilling. Borehole electromagnetic surveys of the 2026 drill holes have been initiated to detect conductive sulphide mineralization off-hole, which is expected to provide an important targeting tool for testing deeper extensions of the system.

Previously, mineralized horizons at Errington had been interpreted to be folded at depth, which suggested the system could be constrained near the bottom of a hinge zone. The most recent drilling supports a more encouraging interpretation: mineralization is likely faulted and offset down-dip rather than terminating, meaning the Errington Zone remains open at depth and has clear potential for continued expansion with additional drilling.

Cross section line is shown on Figure 1. The view is toward northeast and the depth of view is 50m. Abbreviations for stratigraphic units: ONW = Onwatin argillite, VRM = Vermilion chert-carbonate, ONA = Onaping andesite ash tuff.

      QAQC Procedures

Core samples are collected and handled using standard industry protocols. Sampling, core-cutting and submission to the assay lab were conducted and supervised by Errington Metals personnel. Assay results have been verified by Errington Metals via Certified Reference Material standards, blanks and field duplicates. Samples were submitted to Activation Laboratories Ltd. (Actlabs) in North Bay, Ontario who is registered to international quality standards through the International Organization for Standardization / International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) 17025:2017 (including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 9002 specifications). Actlabs is accredited to the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) Requirements and Guidance for the Accreditation of Testing Laboratories, specific to mineral, forensic and environmental testing laboratories. Samples are crushed, pulverized then digested using a four-acid solution and analysed using a combination of ICP-MS and ICP-AES methods. Gold is independently analysed using a 30 g sample by fire assay methods. Analyses are completed in Ancaster, Ontario. Certified reference material standards and blanks were inserted into the sample stream and internal standards and blanks were concurrently analysed by the lab. All data are reported and certified by Actlabs.
