Breathing Green Solutions first licensed cannabis producer in Nova Scotia

HALIFAX, Nov. 13, 2017 /CNW/ - Breathing Green Solutions will soon be growing its first cannabis crop at the company's state-of-the-art production facility in the Wentworth Valley, after becoming Nova Scotia's first licensed producer under the new Health Canada guidelines.

"After two and a half years of hard work building the facility, we are excited to have approval to grow our first crop," said Bill Sanford, Chairman of Breathing Green Solutions. "We will now focus on expanding our team to produce the finest quality, made-in-Canada cannabis products for the medicinal and recreational markets".

A privately-held company, Breathing Green was incorporated in 2014 and has since developed a 35,000 square-foot production facility, with room for expansion on 35-acres of pristine forest in Wentworth. The facility features the latest technology and innovations, including a unique and proprietary growing and nutritional method, and best-in-class security systems. The facility's nursery, grow rooms, and processing and packaging centre are designed for optimal temperature, humidity, and air quality conditions.  The indoor lighting technology enables the growing team to enjoy complete control over lighting and temperature for continuously optimal growing conditions and predictability.

 "Our production team, led by a master grower with more than 20 years of experience growing medicinal cannabis products, is confident that we are going to help patients and customers feel better by producing a consistent, reliable product," said Mr. Sanford, who has assembled a board and management team comprised of seasoned experts from the horticultural, medical, legal, quality assurance, and security professions among others.

The company, which has employed a small core staff since breaking ground, plans to grow the staff quickly to 30-40 well-paying positions in rural Nova Scotia, with possible expansion depending on consumer demand. Breathing Green Solutions plans to have product available to the medicinal market by mid-2018 and the recreational market once the new law is ratified.
