Call for Personal Accounts - Investigation into the Availability of Pediatric Equipment in Hospitals and Emergency Medical Transport
FrançaisThe Commissaire au bien-être et aux droits des enfants is inviting people to share their experiences.
MONTREAL, Nov. 2, 2026 /CNW/ -- When a child in Québec needs medical care, whether in a hospital or during emergency transport (ambulance, airplane, or helicopter), is the necessary equipment needed to treat them and, in some cases, save their life available?
The Commissaire au bien-être et aux droits des enfants is seeking personal accounts as part of its investigation.
Who can share their stories?
A child who has received emergency pediatric care in a hospital or during emergency transport (ambulance, airplane, or helicopter). A parent, family member, or other adult who accompanied a child in this situation. Experiences may involve the use of, lack of access to, or difficulty obtaining pediatric equipment needed for care (oxygen masks, wheelchairs, stethoscopes, etc.).
Every experience can help the Commissaire better understand what is working, what is not working, and what needs to be improved to ensure that children receive the care they need.
The information provided will be protected and stored securely. With the individual's consent, an investigator may contact them to obtain additional details about their experience. For more information, please visit this page.
Please note that sharing your experience is not a complaint. The Commissaire is concerned with the situation of all children. The Commissaire cannot resolve an individual situation or intervene with a hospital regarding a specific case.
