Xplor 2014: Montreal's largest get-together of Quebec's Mineral Industry with Mayor Denis Coderre as Honorary Chairman

ROUYN-NORANDA, QC, June 3, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Québec Mineral Exploration Association (QMEA) is pleased to announce that Denis Coderre will act as the honorary chairman at its annual convention which will be held from October 21st to 23rd. The first edition to be held in the great metropolis will bring together investors, prospectors, geologists and service providers who contribute to the development of Quebec's mining industry.

Denis Coderre, Mayor of the City of Montreal, has accepted to act as the honorary chairman of the convention, connoting the support for the mineral industry, which includes contractors, to the socio-economic development of the large metropolitan region and all the middlemen. "It is an honour to participate in this event, which will contribute to maintaining the importance of this industry in the development of the community. 16,000 jobs depend of the mining industry itself in the Montreal area", explains Mayor Coderre.

On the way to Montréal
Previously held in Quebec City, the largest get-together of the Quebec Mineral Industry will take place at Place Bonaventure in Montréal. Encompassing a grand network of service providers and consultants in many fields, the City of Montreal includes more than 1800 small and medium businesses representing the largest concentration of mining expertise in the province. Philippe Cloutier, geologist and president of the AEMQ Board of Directors, has stated "This launching in the City of Montreal will create a distinctive atmosphere in our industry, specifically in the investment milieus and the North American markets. Our members will benefit immensely. With its new name, Xplor will create a greater visibility on the local as well as on the international scenes".

Xplor : Québec Mining Exploration Convention, a reference in the industry
Last year, QMEA assembled more than 2000 conventioneers and 200 exhibitors. Once again, participants can expect conferences and workshops of the highest quality. Xplor stands out as being highly developed in the business world and in the networking opportunities, making the convention a not-to-be-missed event.
