Wednesday is Killer for CTV as 3.11 Million Viewers Say Goodbye to Willows on CSI

TORONTO, Jan. 26, 2012 /CNW/ - CTV locked up Wednesday night with Marg Helgenberger's departure from perennial favourite CSI, which pulled in 3.11 million viewers last night at 10 p.m., the series' highest audience since January 2009. For the day, CSI was #1 with total viewers and all key demos, attracting million plus audiences among A25-54 (1.22 million) and A18-49 (1.2 million) and becoming the most-watched program of the week. Overall, it was a killer Wednesday for CTV as the network delivered the Top 3 most-watched programs of the day, winning each hour of primetime (8-11 p.m.) both nationally and in Toronto in total viewers and all key demos.
At 8 p.m., AMERICAN IDOL won its timeslot with 2.31 million viewers, up 24% with A18-34 and +10% with A18-49 from last week. For the day, AMERICAN IDOL was #2 with A18-34 after CSI.
At 9 p.m., CRIMINAL MINDS captured a season-high 2.45 million viewers, ranking #2 for the day with total viewers, A18-49 and A25-54. The series' 150th episode delivered almost 1 million more viewers at 9 p.m. than the preview of the new series TOUCH (1.5 million, GLOBAL/FOX).
CTV's Top 3 programs of the night CSI, CRIMINAL MINDS and AMERICAN IDOL each pulled in million + audiences in 18-49 and 25-54 and are also the Top 3 programs of the week to date.
