TORONTO, Feb. 4 /CNW/ - From Water Week and unforgettable women to a "Borat" aftermath and a lender of last resort, March on TVO promises a range of thought-provoking documentaries, intriguing dramas and engaging current affairs programs that will make you think.

In recognition of World Water Day on March 22, TVO presents Water Week (March 21-27), a week-long programming focus examining political, economic and environmental issues around water. The marquee program in the lineup is the world premiere of filmmaker Liz Marshall's "Water on the Table" on March 24. The documentary explores our country's relationship to its freshwater as it follows Canadian activist Maude Barlow over the course of a year on an ardent crusade against the privatization of water.

Sunday nights at 9 pm on The Big Night In, TVO showcases women's stories. On March 7, Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda) stars in the North American premiere of "Mrs Mandela," an engrossing biopic that charts Winnie Mandela's progression from social worker and innocent young wife of Nelson Mandela to revolutionary firebrand. Watch also for dramas depicting the lives of music hall/film star Gracie Fields, British politician Marjorie "Mo" Mowlam and dancer Margot Fonteyn.

March 3 on The View From Here features the world premiere of Rosie Dransfeld's "Broke." Revolving around an Edmonton pawnshop and the colourful character who owns it, the film is a powerful cinema vérité portrait of the daily life of a poor neighbourhood and its inhabitants in one of the wealthiest cities in the world.

And TVO's "The Agenda with Steve Paikin" wraps up its three-city On the Road tour looking at how Ontario is being reinvented in the new economy with a visit to Timmins on Sunday March 21 and Monday March 22.
