Tails of Help Launches Founders Campaign to Aid Alberta Pet Owners in Need

EDMONTON, Dec. 10, 2013 /CNW/ - Tails of Help has launched its first fundraising campaign and is seeking founding corporate and individual donors to help build the charity's reserve fund, and keep pets and families together.  Tails of Help provides funding to owners of ill or injured pets that require essential non-elective veterinary care, and who are experiencing financial hardship. The new registered charity is committed to ensuring that Albertans in need have access to essential veterinary care when financial difficulties may otherwise prevent animals from getting the care they need.

"Our Founders Campaign provides corporations and individuals the opportunity to partner with Tails of Help from the very beginning, and truly make a difference in the lives of many families this coming year." says Dr. Jennifer Willans, President of Tails of Help.  "We've had an overwhelmingly positive response from pet-owners and pet lovers throughout the province, and in November we have just begun accepting and approving our first applications to help clients with animals in need."

Varying levels of funding support are available to corporate and individual donors with enduring recognition from Tails of Help. All donations are welcome, and gifts of $15 or more receive a charitable receipt.  Additional information on the Founders Campaign can be found at www.tailsofhelp.ca.

"Veterinary practices frequently encounter situations where animals are surrendered, or left untreated because of an owner's limited resources.  We're very pleased to provide a solution that keeps pets in their homes" says Willans. "Our work will complement that of existing animal shelters and humane societies.  Keeping pets healthy and with their loving families reduces the burden on these vital social services."

Tails of Help is a registered charitable organization committed to keeping pets and families together.  By providing funding for owners of companion animals in Alberta who require treatment due to illness or injury, Tails of Help will help prevent the pain, suffering, and even surrender of hundreds of animals each year, and the heartbreak of families in need.
