Shave to Save: A new "face" for the 2014 edition - Natasha Gargiulo is the spokesperson for the 2014 edition of the Shave to Save campaign

MONTREAL, Sept. 16, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation is proud to announce that Natasha Gargiulo, co-host of Freeway and Natasha in the morning on Virgin Radio 96, has graciously agreed to serve as spokesperson for the 14th edition of the Shave to Save campaign, which will be taking place from September 29th to October 30th, during the breast cancer awareness month.

Shave to Save invites members of the public to shave their head in solidarity with people living with breast cancer, whose treatments often cause them to lose their hair. The concept is simple: participants are invited to make this meaningful gesture and collect donations from their friends and loved ones.

« Shave to Save has always been a campaign that I hold close to my heart, since we created the idea 14 years ago. It gives me great joy to see how so many people in our community have risen to the challenge and have devoted their time, money & hair to the cause. Sadly we all know a woman who is, or has fought the struggle. 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. It could be anyone of us. Although we can't prevent breast cancer, we can take action by empowering women to know their bodies and be aware of the signs.
