RGD Celebrates Ottawa's top creative talent
All are invited to enjoy work on cutting edge of design in Ottawa
OTTAWA, May 31, 2012 /CNW/ - The Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario (RGD) (http://www.rgdontario.com/) presents Design at Work: Ottawa, an exhibit showcasing communications design projects recently created by local design professionals. The exhibit is on display in the lobby at 350 Albert Street in downtown Ottawa from now until June 9.
Design at Work (http://www.designatwork.ca/en/exhibition/) is an annual, juried competition that honours exemplary communications created for local organizations. The exhibit demonstrates the ability of designers to influence target audiences and boost corporate marketing and sales.
Effective graphic design is often the missing ingredient in failed campaigns, rebrands, product launches and more. "This exhibit represents one of the many steps RGD is taking to demonstrate the value of design to all facets of business," says RGD Ottawa Director Filippo Di Trapani R.G.D. "Visitors to the exhibit will be surprised to learn of the research, thought process and strategy that is crucial to the development of such beautiful, targeted, and ultimately successful creative communications."
"I think Design at Work represents a fantastic opportunity for both the creative industry and the public," says exhibitor Robert Smith R.G.D., President, greenmelon. "The importance of effective design solutions has never been more valuable for business. I am proud to be a part of the show and honoured to be surrounded by work of this caliber."
Design at Work: Ottawa features work created by R.G.D.-designated designers from studios such as Cayenne Creative, Mario Godbout Design and Character Creative and in-house design departments at St. Lawrence College and Natural Resources Canada. Projects on display range from an integrated branding system developed for multi-faceted firm Affiliated Property Group to an awareness campaign for Hôpital Montfort Hospital.
The Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario (RGD) is the professional body for graphic designers in Ontario. Representing over 3,000 members, RGD is an industry hub, setting standards of professional practice and accrediting graphic designers who qualify with the designation Registered Graphic Designer (R.G.D.).
