GATINEAU, QC, Nov. 4, 2026 /CNW/ --
- The federal by-elections in Brantford–Brant South (Ontario), Laurier–Sainte-Marie (Quebec), Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie (Quebec), Saint-Hyacinthe–Bagot–Acton (Quebec), Scarborough North (Ontario) and Yorkton–Melville (Saskatchewan) are on Monday, December 7, 2026.
- To vote in one of these by-elections, electors must live in the riding (electoral district) from Sunday, November 1, 2026, to Monday, December 7, 2026, and must be registered at their current address.
- Electors can use Elections Canada's Online Voter Registration Service to check if they are registered, register or update their address. By registering in advance, they will save a step when they go to vote.
- Electors can also register at the polls, just before they vote.
- Most Canadians who are eligible to vote are already registered and should receive a voter information card in the mail that tells them where and when to vote. They can also find the location and hours of their polling station and local Elections Canada office by entering their postal code in the Voter Information Service box.
- Electors do not need a voter information card to vote.
- Elections Canada maintains the National Register of Electors to help ensure that only eligible people can cast a ballot, and only in the riding where they live. By making sure their voter registration is up to date, electors help keep the Register and the lists of electors accurate.
