MONTREAL, Oct. 5, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Eminent African American writer Ishmael Reed will launch GOING TOO FAR, ESSAYS ABOUT AMERICA'S NERVOUS BREAKDOWN at a public meeting in Little Burgundy on Friday, October 12, 6 p.m. (Café Mozaïk, CEDA, 2515, rue Delisle, Métro Lionel-Groulx)
Like fugitive slaves who fled to Canada and challenged prevailing views that slaves were well off under masters, Reed comes north to challenge the widespread opinion that racism is no longer a factor in American life and politics.
Some say he "Goes Too Far!" Reed replies, "They don't know how far I've gone - all the way to Quebec," to publish this second book of essays with Montreal's Baraka Books.
GOING TOO FAR appears in the middle of an election campaign in which nobody wants to talk about the elephant in the room.
