VICTORIA, March 8, 2017 /CNW/ - The Canadian College of Performing Arts (CCPA) is excited to announce "A Legendary Evening" of music and dining honouring Grammy Award-winning musician and icon, David Foster, while showcasing Canada's rising stars.
"We were eager to showcase the calibre of talent coming out of college," explained Mel Cooper, honorary event chair. "There is no better way than by honouring David, one of our country's greatest talents."
In addition to the inaugural presentation of CCPA's Legend Award to Foster, the evening will feature a gourmet dinner, live auction, and concert featuring Foster's music performed by CCPA graduates.
The event is generously supported by Bayview Place and Kenneth W. and Patricia Mariash. "We are very pleased to be able to support the next generation of great Canadian artists and celebrate David Foster as the first recipient of the Legend Award," said Kenneth W. Mariash Sr.
"Investing in arts, culture and education is an important part of building a thriving community," said Patricia Mariash. "That principle is evident in the design of Bayview Place and the Roundhouse development and underscores our philanthropy across Canada."
Funds raised will support CCPA's mission to provide excellent training in the performing arts at a significantly subsidized rate.
