TORONTO, Oct. 27, 2026 /CNW/ -- NEO Battery Materials Ltd. ("NEO" or the "Company") (TSXV: NBM) (OTC: NBMFF), a low-cost, silicon-enhanced battery manufacturer enabling high-performance capabilities for drones, robotics, and physical AI, is pleased to announce that it has been contracted by a South Korean defense prime and tier-1 Korean battery pack company to develop and manufacture custom-built, high-performance batteries for an undisclosed defense project.
Under the A-sample phase, NEO will supply initial battery prototypes for electrochemical and mechanical testing to verify performance and quality against the project's requirements. Upon successful evaluation of A-samples, the program is expected to progress to larger pilot orders with B-sample manufacturing and evaluation, followed by subsequent volume production. The contract advances NEO's Korean Defense Integration Strategy under which the Company serves as a flexible, high-performance cell partner to established defense integrators, supplying qualified, domestically manufactured batteries into packs and systems for Korean defense applications.
"This contract reflects our continued progress in engaging larger organizations and converting them into customers," said Mr. Spencer Huh, President and CEO of NEO. "Working with a major defense prime and an established pack manufacturer has formed another pathway into the Korean defense supply chain. NEO's engineering and manufacturing team are focused on fulfilling the customers' validation requirements and supporting the program through its next phases as a potential anchor vendor."
