MTS Allstream Supports Flood Relief Efforts in Alberta with $25,000 Donation

MTS Allstream employee heading to Calgary to help lead disaster relief efforts with Canadian Red Cross

WINNIPEG, June 24, 2013 /CNW/ - Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. (the "Company" or "MTS Allstream"), today announced that it will be supporting disaster relief efforts for those affected by the recent flooding in Alberta. MTS Allstream is donating $25,000 to the Canadian Red Cross (Red Cross) flood relief efforts in Alberta.  The national communications provider is also sending one of its Toronto-based employees, Ella West, to help lead the relief effort in the role of Director of Relief Operations for the Red Cross.

"I am proud to represent MTS Allstream and the Canadian Red Cross, and support my fellow Canadians," said Ms. West, who manages MTS Allstream's privacy office and risk management practice.  "I know that every person can make a difference at a time like this."

For over 30 years, Ms. West's volunteer efforts have focused on disaster relief, both as a responder and a trainer in many locations around the world. In May 2008, she was awarded the prestigious Order of the Red Cross, the highest distinction award presented to volunteers and individuals for their outstanding humanitarian services.
