Media Advisory: La Roche-Posay Hosts Skin Cancer Awareness Event and Reveals Initiative to Accelerate Access to Care and Treatment for Patients

MONTREAL, May 11, 2016 /CNW/ - As part of the company's commitment to reducing the instance of skin cancer in Canada, La Roche-Posay is inviting media to its Become a Skin Checker skin cancer awareness event on Thursday, May 12. La Roche-Posay will be holding a press conference to discuss teledermatology, the latest technical innovation in the dermatology field and the future of early skin cancer detection. Teledermatology is the use of a medical device with a smart phone, giving general practitioners the ability to share high-resolution images with a dermatologist, regardless the distance, for evaluation via a secured platform.

At the event, La Roche-Posay and its partners will also offer skin examinations via teledermatology, information on sun safety habits and the ABCDE method of detecting suspicious moles for participants throughout the day.
