Media Advisory - Eastern Christians - An Opportunity To Meet A Leading Figure In The Middle East! His Holiness, The Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Is Visiting Toronto And The Greater Montreal Area Français
MONTREAL, Aug. 26, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - As part of his first Apostolic Visit to Canada, His Holiness, Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church, will be in Toronto and Greater Montreal to deliver a message about the tragic realities of Eastern Christians and to meet with the media. Almost to the day after the march of solidarity that took place in Montreal last year, the reality of the Christian population of the Middle East has not changed, but has instead deteriorated.
Media are invited to continue their coverage of the situation of Eastern Christians. More than one million people living in Quebec and the rest of Canada identify with one or the other Christian communities from the Middle East region.
