Louise Dandurand and Michel Décary appointed to the IRCM's Board of Directors

MONTREAL, June 11, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Louise Dandurand, President of Acfas (Association francophone pour le savoir), and Michel Décary, consulting partner at BCF law firm, joined the Board of Directors at the IRCM (Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal). Their appointment was confirmed during the annual general meeting held yesterday.

"The IRCM's Board of Directors is proud to welcome Louise Dandurand and Michel Décary," says Louise Lambert-Lagacé, Chairwoman of the Board. "Their extensive expertise and great knowledge of academia, research and the legal sector represent an important contribution to the institute."

About Louise Dandurand
Louise Dandurand holds a Master's degree in the history of science from the Université de Montréal and a PhD in political science from the University of Toronto. She dedicated her career to academic research administration. She held several positions at the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. She also held important positions at the Université du Québec à Montréal, the Fonds québécois de la recherche sur la société et la culture, and Concordia University. She is Vice-President of the Board of Directors at Télé-Québec.

About Michel Décary
Michel Décary's experience as a pleader has run the gamut of Canadian courts at all levels up to and including the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as provincial and federal administrative tribunals and domestic arbitration tribunals, in matters regarding corporate, commercial and securities law. He has either acted as counsel or represented witnesses before several public inquiries such as Cliche, Malouf, Gomery and Johnson. Throughout his career, Mr. Décary has been a Board member for various companies and organizations. Today, he is a member of the Board for National Public Relations and the Montreal Council on Foreign Relations.

About the IRCM
The IRCM (www.ircm.qc.ca) is a renowned biomedical research institute located in the heart of Montréal's university district. Founded in 1967, it is currently comprised of 35 research units and four specialized research clinics (cholesterol, cystic fibrosis, diabetes and obesity, hypertension).
